As a singer and voice teacher, I first met soprano Elizabeth J. in the Boston area in the 1990's. We have sung together several times and we both enjoy teaching voice and sharing technical solutions on our student's progress. I have heard her students in concert and can attest that she is a patient, passionate, and caring instructor. She guides her students in healthy singing across musical styles and they consistently improve their singing under her tutelage.

Elizabeth was my voice teacher for about 8 years at the Concord Conservatory of Music, and she single-handedly transformed my voice. She is such a kind and patient teacher and has taught me so much about vocal technique, tone, and health. Elizabeth has helped me establish a foundation in classical music to ensure a stable technique and flexible range and then let me explore musical theater and Broadway styles as I found that those styles were my true passion. Thanks to Elizabeth I have almost a healthy three octave range! I can go back to my classical roots when I need to hit higher soprano notes, and easily transition into a more forward sounding belt-esque Broadway tone, all without any vocal strain. Now I am off to pursue my dreams and study musical theater as a Theater Performance Major at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. I cannot thank Elizabeth enough for helping me with the countless college auditions by finding me unique repertoire and helping me connect to each piece with character and conviction. I would highly recommend Elizabeth's vocal instruction to anyone who wants to excel in classical voice or musical theater!

I love Elizabeth's voice lessons! I studied with her on and off for about two years and she helped me to be better equipped as a choir director. As a teacher she is warm, kind, and gently firm to get my technique right. As a singer she has a beautiful voice and versatile repertoire. I highly recommend Elizabeth!

My daughter began vocal training when she was 11 and continued until she began college at Berklee College of Music. Elizabeth trained her voice beautifully and each year had little concerts with her students where each one could learn performance skills as well. She was incredibly patient and persevered whether my daughter practiced or not. Elizabeth taught her how to protect and care for her voice and provided a wonderful model of calm and self care. She was kindness personified! and I cannot recommend her more highly even if you don't wish to pursue a music career, she helps one appreciate music more deeply.

My daughter took voice lessons with Elizabeth for four years. We were very sad to lose her as our teacher. My daughter is very shy and Elizabeth helped her gain confidence thru her voice. She started off with hit (new and old) songs which helped my daughter with auditions for musical theatre, and performing on stage. With her voice maturing, she has now found her great love of opera :)

Elizabeth is very caring and really inspires her students to bring out their inner sparkle. :) You won't be disappointed!

I have studied voice with Elizabeth for the past 5 years. Her lessons include vocal warm-ups, advice for deIivery and diction and a relaxed encouraging atmosphere. She is also an excellent choral director -- giving good energy and precision to the group performance. I have been part of a choir that she directed.

Elizabeth Johnson taught voice to my daughters for many years. They sing like angels, but more importantly, she helped them find their "voices" for living life. They express themselves persuasively, directly,, and confidently and understand nuance. Thanks, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth has a terrific, laid back manner where kids do not even know how much they are learning. She is kind and warm and really knows how to teach" Laura

Elizabeth was a wonderful teacher who I had as my first voice teacher starting in Elementary School and progressing into High School. This thus encompassed a wide variety of skills from basic musicianship and ear training to voice training and basic classical techniques later on. She taught me well and with the same standards as an adult for my entire beginning work as a singer. She instilled a love of Classical vocal music, Great American Songbook, and opera that has continued to this day. I have used the skills she gave me to this day as both a choral and solo singer with new teachers and ensembles. You will not be disappointed in hiring Elizabeth as a teacher.

Elizabeth Johnson was a voice teacher for my daughter, Victoria, beginning when she was 9 years old until she graduated from high school this year (2015). Her instruction was wonderful and highly skilled -- she is an excellent teacher who helped to carefully develop my daughter's voice and vocal skills/knowledge. She taught her to sing in a classical style (including opera), as well as for musical theater (my daughter's passion). Others commented on Victoria's acquired skill and knowledge regularly (at summer programs, auditions, workshops, competitions)! Along with excellent professional-level vocal instruction, Elizabeth was a wonderful mentor to my daughter -- helping her with preparations for performances, vocal competitions, and the college audition process -- and supporting her passions and goals in music and musical theater. I saw her do a fantastic job with groups of students, too, at the Concord Conservatory of Music. She is a lovely person and was wonderful to work with from a parent's perspective, as well! My daughter will be studying musical theater in college this fall and will miss working with Elizabeth. She is an amazing teacher and I recommend her highly!
